KGF RECEIVES $300,000 APPROPRIATION FROM DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR / USGS

In the spring of 2004, the Kansas Geological Foundation received $300,000.00 appropriation from the Department of Interior, through the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

Senator Sam Brownback and Representative Todd Tiahrt, as members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, worked hard on behalf of the Kansas Geological Foundation, for the benefit of the Kansas Oil & Gas Industry. Also involved in promoting this important appropriations was Senator Pat Roberts.

With these funds added to the monies received from the donors listed above, the Kansas Geological Foundation has raised in excess of $1,000,000.00 to help preserve important data to the oil & gas industry of Kansas.
