January 3, 2008: For the time being, the ability to add funds to your account has been turned off. This service will be available again when we move to the new version of software. We are moving forward with the new software so please check back with this page for more updates and watch your email for more information as it develops.
December 18th, 2007: Our internet & phone provider has found a problem in their cables and will be taking the systems down tonight between 10:00 PM and 2:00 AM. Hopefully this will take care of the problems we have been experiencing. Again, we apologize for the incovenience and problems these interruptions have caused. This has been a widespread outage problem, not just with our individual system.
December 17th, 2007 - Our internet provider has been experiencing trouble today - we hope that this problem will be resovled soon and appologize for the incovnenience it is causing.
November 10th, 2007 - 4:00 PM - This week the digital library system has had several issues that kept the service offline. The System is now restored and back on-line. We sincerely regret any difficulties that this may have caused. Please call us if you have any questions.
19th September 2007 - The necessary changes have been implemented. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
Some of you saw the new software at the User Training Session. We are anxiously getting closer to the release date. In the meantime, you can prepare your computer for the new software by performing the following tasks:
1. Download and install Microsoft's .NET framework 2.0 (link)
2. Download and install Microsoft's .NET framework 3.0 (link)
Both versions of the .NET framework are required for the new software. Get a head start by installing them now.
12th September 2007 - We will be taking the digital library system down for a period of time over this upcoming weekend in order to make some necessary changes. We hope this down time will be short but you should plan on the possiblity of the system being down from Friday, Sept. 14th, 3:00 PM through Sunday, Sept. 16th. Feel free to check the website for access as it may be a very short period that the system is down.
This is NOT the implementation of the new software but is a partial preparation for it. We hope this is not too much of an inconvenience for you and we will have the system back up and running as soon as possible.

WE ARE CONDUCTING A USER TRAINING SESSION FOR THE NEW SOFTWARE ON MONDAY, SEPT. 17TH, AT THE WICHITA LAW LIBRARY, 225 N. MARKET - DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE KGS LIBRARY.

9th August 2007 - I know that you are all wondering when this new program is going to be introduced and again, I apologize that we keep saying "its almost done" but truly it is almost done. As we stated at the end of May, we ran into several database issues which have taken some time to resolve but we have now taken care of those issues and are preparing to do beta testing. We anticipate approximately 1 week of testing basic infrastructure and possibly another week of testing features. If you had previously volunteered your time for beta testing, you will be getting an email with specific instructions. All users will also be getting an email when we prepare to "go live".
It seems like a long wait but when you see this new system, you will appreciate the time that has gone into this endeavor. 31st May 2007 - We are progessing but have had a few delays. We will not be switching over to the new software on June 1st but it should not be too much longer. In conjunction with creating the new software, we have taken on the challenge of cleaning up the KGS library's database. We have actually combined three large databases into one. This proved to be quite a challenge but will be well worth it and is a very good thing for the KGS's future. Again, we thank you for your patience and will get this new program up and running as soon as possible!
10 May 2007 ****** NEW SOFTWARE NEARING COMPLETION******
As most of you know, we have been developing new software to run the Walters Digital Library. We started this endeavor in the fall of 2006. In the next few weeks, we will be having more notices to keep you informed about the change-over date. At this time, we are planning to be ready to move to the new software by the end of this month. We expect to be fully up and running by June 1st. Please keep checking this page for updates.
ALSO: We need to confirm your email adress as this will be important at the time of switching over. We will be sending out an email notice to confirm your email. If you know you have a new one since joining the digital library, please give Rebecca a call or better, an email to: manager@kgslibrary.com.

There will be a scheduled maintenance tonight from approximately 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM in which the digital library will be down. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but the maintenance should only last 1 hour.
After several months of running our new software, we have become aware of many issues that the user is having with saving, printing and viewing of entire images. Please know that we are aware and we are working to correct these issues. We appreciate your feedback and value what you have to say. Please keep us informed of any issues you are having with the program. We will keep working until we are satisfied that we have an excellent program for you to view the well log data and put it to use in your other software programs. Thank you for your patience!
The change is finally coming!! We will keep imaging Explorer running tonight and tomorrow morning, but you will not be able to download or print. All transactions will cease around 5:30 PM today. We will bring the new software on-line Thursday around noon.You will simply go to http://secure.waltersdigitallibrary.com to access the new software. you will no longer go to the "Imaging Explorer" icon that is on your desktop. That program will cease to work at noon tomorrow. Please call if you have questions but please try to go through the Help Files on the new program, that will answer most questions.
